Pakistan Champions Trophy Squad 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board has completed preparations to finalize the Pakistan Champions Trophy Squad 2025 to be held in February next month.

According to the report, before announcing the team for the tournament, it will participate in a tri-nation series against South Africa and New Zealand, after which the final list of names will be handed over to Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for approval.

According to sources, the decision on Saim Ayub’s inclusion will be made based on medical reports, while the selectors have decided on a replacement in case Saim Ayub is not fit.

Out-of-form opener Abdullah Shafiq and middle-order batsman Usman Khan are unlikely to be included in the Pakistan Champions Trophy Squad, however, aggressive opener Fakhar Zaman is likely to play in the playing XI, while either Imam-ul-Haq or Haseebullah will play alongside him.

According to sources, the participation of Babar Azam, Muhammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Kamran Ghulam, Tayyab Tahir, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed, Sufyan Muqim, Irfan Khan, Fakhar Zaman and Muhammad Hasnain seems certain.

Seven teams participating in the Champions Trophy 2025 have announced their names. Only the host Pakistan team is yet to be announced. Under ICC rules, the squad can be finalized by February 11.

With the tournament nearing, Pakistan’s selectors must strike the right balance between experienced campaigners and emerging talents. The final squad announcement is expected soon, with fans eagerly awaiting the team that will represent the host nation in this prestigious event.
