The CM also handed over a cheque for Rs 5 million to Nadeem’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt before returning to Lahore.

Nadeem became the first athlete from Pakistan to win an Olympic gold medal with a staggering 92.97m in the men’s javelin final, while India’s Neeraj Chopra, who defended his title, won silver with a season’s best of 89.45m. At the international level, World Athletics announced a cash prize of $50,000 to all the gold medallists at the Paris Olympics, including Arshad. United Bank Limited (UBL) and Toyota Pakistan each awarded Arshad Rs 5 million and a Corolla Cross Hybrid Electric Vehicle.

Pakistani singer Ali Zafar pledged Rs 1 million through his foundation, while cricketer Ahmad Shahzad also announced a similar award. Pakistan’s JDC Foundation awarded Arshad Rs 92.97 million, the same amount as the record pitch, plus an additional Rs 2.5 million and a Suzuki Alto. Businessman Ali Sheikhani took over the entire amount and ARY Lagoona Chairman Salman Iqbal gifted Arshad an apartment at ARY Lagoona.
