It is Milan’s first title since the 2021/22 Italian Championship. After a shaky start to the season, currently sitting in seventh place in Serie A, the team has now won two consecutive matches against local rivals. In the semi-final, Milan defeated Juventus 2-1, also coming from behind.

Inter Milan are the current Italian champions and also held the Super Cup title. Milan are tied with Internazionale with eight trophies each. The tournament’s most successful team is Juventus, with nine titles.

In a hard-fought match in Saudi Arabia, AC Milan were 2-0 down against Inter Milan but a quick reaction to the deficit led the team now coached by Sérgio Conceição to win 3-2. Thus, the coach won the first two games and claimed his first title.

In a tightly contested match between Milan’s two biggest teams, Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring close to half-time to put Simone Inzaghi’s side ahead.
The situation improved shortly after the start of the second half, with Mehdi Taremi, a former player of Sérgio Conceição tactics, making it 2-0 with a shot that Maignan had no chance of getting.
Soon after, a free kick from Theo Hernández reduced Inter’s lead and in the final ten minutes, the French international crossed from the left and found Christian Pulisic who scored to equalise at two goals.
Sérgio Conceição celebrated again when, in injury time, Rafael Leão found Tammy Abraham who just had to tap the ball in for the final 3-2.

With this result, Sérgio Conceição won his first two games in charge of AC Milan, both with comebacks, and won the Italian Super Cup.
