US Open 2025 Dates and Schedule

The 2025 US Open tennis tournament will be held from August 24 to September 7 in New York. This iconic tournament concludes the Grand Slam season after the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon.

The first week is usually devoted to the early rounds, while the most anticipated matches – quarters, semis and finals – are played from the weekend of August 30. The very popular night sessions start each evening around 7 p.m. in the immense Arthur Ashe Stadium (23,771 seats, a record), equipped with a roof since 2016. If you’re exploring how to watch the US Open tennis, there are plenty of options: live on-site, streaming platforms, or through international sports networks.

Wondering how much are US Open tennis tickets or looking for cheap US Open tennis tickets

👉 You can buy tickets for the day, the session (day or evening), or for the entire tournament if you’re aiming for total immersion. You can even attend the qualifying week just beforehand; there are sometimes some great future gems… and it’s free!

The announcement of the full US Open draw is obviously made just before the main tournament.

Buy tickets for the US Open

There are several options for purchasing your tickets to the 2025 US Open, depending on your budget, the type of session (day/evening), and your preference for proximity to Center Court. Prices vary greatly depending on the day and the stadium you’re targeting:

  • Day tickets (Arthur Ashe) : from €85
  • Evening tickets : from €110 to watch matches in prime time
  • Ground pass (access to the side courts only): from €40

Other reliable platforms (we’ve tested them) include Vivid Seats and SeatGeek . Remember to book early: the best seats go weeks or even months in advance, especially for weekend sessions.

How to get to Flushing Meadows

The tournament takes place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park , in the Queens borough of New York City. The Billie Jean King National Tennis Center , to be precise. Since the park is huge, aim for that address instead. Access is easy and well-marked during the event, but less so the rest of the year.

From Manhattan , it takes about 40 minutes by subway:

  • Line 7 toward Flushing – Mets–Willets Point stop
  • You can then walk to USTA Billie Jean King Center (8 min)
  • Free shuttles also connect the resort to the tournament site

You can also take a rideshare like Uber or Lyft, but beware of traffic jams and the cost during rush hour.

Good to know : it is not recommended to come by private car. Parking is rare, expensive and often saturated from the morning, not to mention the traffic jams there too ( we unfortunately experienced this… ).

Atmosphere and experience in the stands

The atmosphere at the US Open is unique in the world: festive, noisy, and relaxed. Nothing like the absolute silence of Wimbledon! Here, spectators chat, eat, react, and shout without restraint (with a few slight excesses sometimes ), creating a vibrant and typically New York atmosphere.

Watching a US Open match in New York is an experience to be had, especially if you’re a tennis fan, because no other tournament has this particularity… unless you’re against it, but you have to be there to really know! And then every year, it’s a piece of history that is written. Especially since being the last Grand Slam of the season, it often seals the status of the world number one, or even forever inscribes an annual or career Grand Slam in the annals. Some legends even hang up their rackets there.

The legendary night sessions are particularly spectacular. In Arthur Ashe Stadium (once again: 23,771 seats!), spectacular presentations right down to the last points, the biggest clashes are played out under the floodlights, often until midnight, or even later… Thrills guaranteed.

You’ll find a wide variety of food stalls on site in the largest stadiums ( Louis Armstrong and Grandstand, in addition to the central one, “Ashe” for those in the know ), or throughout the heart of the site, between the other fields. Cold drinks, stalls and souvenir shops are also plentiful, a buzz that is also quite unique. Fortunately, there are also relaxation areas, especially around the large fountains – bringing a bit of freshness to the New York summer heat. Or just outside in Corona Park, site of the 1939 and 1964 World’s Fairs, some of which remain ( brought to the screen in Men in Black or Iron Man, notably ). Wi-Fi access is free, giant screens are everywhere, and the entertainment continues between matches.

Our tips for making the most of it

To experience the US Open stress-free and like a true connoisseur, here are some tried and tested tips:

  • 📱 Download the official app : iOS / Android – match times, site map, lineups, weather… everything is there in real time.
interface of the official US Open 2024 smartphone app
Official US Open App Preview: Live Scores, Advanced Stats & Today’s Matches
  • 🎒 Pack light : Bulky backpacks are a no-no. Instead, choose a fanny pack or a compact tote bag.
  • 🕒 Arrive early : Even with a numbered ticket, it is best to arrive 30 to 45 minutes before the start of the session, especially in the evening.
  • ☀️ Protect yourself from the sun : In late August in New York, temperatures often exceed 30°C and the sun is scorching. Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a water bottle (empty at the entrance) are essential. Sponsors sometimes distribute free sunscreen, but it’s best to rely on your own resources.

❇️ As a bonus, if you want to maximize your day, target the side courts as soon as they open. Less crowded, closer to the players, and sometimes much more intense matches! We particularly recommend courts 4 to 6, court 17 (mini-stadium), and 10 & 13. These are also favorites among regulars…
