Neymar Al Hilal Contract Has Terminated

Brazilian striker Neymar Al Hilal Contract Has Terminated, the Saudi club announced on its social media on Monday.

The end of the neymar contract was by mutual agreement and after the Brazilian had only played seven games.

Neymar Al Hilal said both parties decided to terminate the contract by mutual agreement and thanked Neymar with a message in Portuguese saying “thank you and good luck.”

The termination comes at a time when the Brazilian press claims that the footballer is close to closing a deal to wear the shirt of Brazilian club Santos , where he trained before making the leap to Europe.

The striker, who will turn 33 in February, has only played seven games for Al Hilal since joining the Saudi team in August 2023.

The Brazilian national team’s number 10 had a contract in force until mid-year, but has decided to end his adventure in Arab football after Al Hilal’s coach, the Portuguese jorge jesus al hilal, will not count on him for the Saudi League.

Neymar has been out of action for almost a year. On October 17, 2023, he suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left knee during a match between Brazil and Uruguay in Montevideo.

He returned on October 21, 2024 in an Asian Champions League match. However, a few days later, he suffered a muscle injury that forced him to stop again.

For weeks, the sports press had been speculating about the future of the former Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Barcelona player, until last week the Brazilian press revealed that Neymar had reached an agreement to return to Santos, the team of his childhood.

A legend of Santos

At Santos, between 2009 and 2013 he played 225 matches, scored 135 goals and won several important titles with the Albinegra shirt, including a Copa Libertadores and a Copa de Brasil.

He then made the leap to Europe with FC Barcelona . There he continued to grow in the shadow of Messi and added more titles to his list of achievements: the European Champions League, two Spanish Leagues and three Copa del Reys, among other titles.

And in 2017, when no one expected it, he made a radical change in his career and signed with PSG, who paid 222 million euros (today about 230 million dollars) to incorporate him into their ‘galactico’ project. In 2020, he again stepped into a ‘Champions’ final, but gave in to the power of Bayern Munich.

From then on, he suffered a series of serious injuries and off-field scandals that relegated him to the second line of the world’s football elite.

In 2023, with no options left due to the arrival of Spanish luis enrique teams coached on the PSG bench, he packed his bags and joined the multi-million-dollar project in Saudi Arabia, where his figure continued to wane. Now, at Santos, he hopes to regain his lost shine with his sights set on the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
